How it fits together

A generic data flow, abstracted. Sources feed an orchestrator, storage and analytics hold the state, an API serves it, dashboards put it in front of people.

Data sources flow into Apache Airflow for orchestration, then into PostgreSQL with PostGIS for storage and ClickHouse for analytics. FastAPI exposes the data as an API, and Plotly Dash renders dashboards on top.

  • Apache Airflow — Orchestration: Scheduled, reliable data pipelines.
  • Plotly Dash — Visualisation: Interactive dashboards on top of the data.

Where I've worked

  1. Jun 2024 — Present(current)

    Junior Software Developer

    Pinc Technology

    • Build and maintain the backend for a geospatial vessel-monitoring platform used by a Malaysian maritime regulatory body, on FastAPI, PostgreSQL/PostGIS and ClickHouse.
    • Design REST APIs and PostGIS spatial queries for vessel tracking and activity detection, including violation-detection logic over vessel event timelines.
    • Develop data pipelines and migrations that import large datasets into PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, with care for type decisions and transaction safety. Work through a dev → UAT → main workflow with DevOps, deploying via Coolify.
